There is such a thing as a Ceravore, a rare insectoid creature whose survival depends primarily on a diet of trans-plasmic substances. The Ceravore is probably the only organic being that is incapable of harnessing its own sex drive, and must consume wax in order to reach a state of biological arousal (aka "heat"). This consequently allows the species to reproduce and maintain a regular population.
The modern manufacture of wax products (primarily candles) has allowed for the spread of the Ceravore population. The creatures can now be found in all corners of the world, usually concentrated in areas with a high level of human children. This has given rise to a number of self-proclaimed "experts" in Ceravorian life-cycles and habits, mostly composed of people who have nothing better to do.
In recent years, psychologists have noticed the existence of a mental disease affecting such indigents in the field of Ceravology. The symptoms of such an affliction include pale and unhealthy skin color as well as marked reclusivity, but its victims are mostly known to exhibit behavior emulating Ceravore rituals. Patients in the advanced stages of the disease attain an overwhelming desire to consume any samples of wax that they find. For reasons of these discoveries, most candle-makers are now required by law to place similar warnings on their packaging.
